Pere Marquette Trout Unlimited is proud to sponsor two students from Lake County and/or Mason County to attend the 2020 Michigan Youth Trout Camp.
- Sunday June 21 – Thursday June 25
- Located at Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center on Higgins Lake in Roscommon, MI
- 13 – 16 year old boys and girls
The four day Camp is designed to educate our next generation of conservation leaders. Campers will learn:
- How we use our land affects the health of our streams and rivers
- To identify ecosystems important to trout and what trout need to survive
- Where trout hide and how to catch them
No previous fly-fishing experience is necessary
The Camp will be under the guidance of local experts, Trout Unlimited volunteers as well as MI DNR Fisheries Division, Americorp, DEQ volunteers and many MI and Midwest Angling Guides and conservationists
PMTU will cover the entire cost of the Camp for two of our local students. To apply for one of these two slots, please prepare:
- Applicants contact information (Name, age, school)
- A one-page essay on why you would like to attend the camp
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, member of a conservation group or church official
